23 Hintlesham Avenue is a long house in the Harborne area of Birmingham. Built in 1955, it was designed by Robert Townsend. It is built entirely of natural materials with brick walls, hardwood frames and a pantiled roof. Against the entrance is a faceted staircase projection with normal rectangular bricks at the corners and above is an unpainted hardwood balcony.

The living room is two storeys high with glazing to the garden and high level triangular windows below the verges to catch the morning and evening sun. Above the fireplace is a balcony leading to the first floor rooms. This house shows the architect's admiration for Frank Lloyd Wright.
