51 Whitevale Street is a 28 storey tower block on the Gallowgate scheme in Calton, Glasgow. It is, along with its neighbour- 109 Bluevale Street- the tallest tower block in Scotland and also amongst the tallest tower block in the UK at 90.80 metres. The buildings are often nicknamed the "Gallowgate Twins" or the "Camlachie Twin Towers" owing to their resemblence to the World Trade Centre when viewed from a certain angle, due to their overall proportions and relationship to each other.

Approved in 1963 as Area A of the Gallowgate project that would also see maisonette blocks and the other tower erected, construction was carried out by Thaw & Campbell. The construction of the two Gallowgate blocks were one of the most complicated and costly of all the tower blocks built by Glasgow City Council. Because of the sheer height of the buildings, it was decided that hydraulic jacks would be implemented into the foundations to allow for movement and allow the building to be flexible. Construction ended in 1968.

Its awesome brutalist design, by Wimpey, casting a huge shadow over the east end of Glasgow as one half of the city's own twin towers. The building contains 174 flats. Due to structural problems that have become more pronounced with time, both are likely to be demolished by 2016 in a regeneration of the city's housing stock being undertaken by the not-for-profit Glasgow Housing Association.
