Century Tower (left) - June 2011 undergoing refurbishment.

Century Tower is a 20 storey tower block on Dollery Drive in Edgbaston, Birmingham. Plans for the block were approved in 1966 and construction was completed in 1968 by Wates, along with its sister tower Wickets Tower, and the shorter Boundary House, all of which received cricket-related names due to their proximity to the international test cricket stadium, Edgbaston Cricket Ground. The tower is 57 metres tall and contains 116 flats.

Refurbishment work commenced on all three towers in 2011. The intention is to improve the structural and thermal performance of the building whilst adding an additional 30 years to its life and achieve the 'Decent Homes Standard' set by Central Government. All the towers will be re-roofed with an insulted felt roofing system, receive a new insulation system to the walls, which will be covered in a white render for a contemporary finish, replace all the windows with double-glazed PVC-u window units, enclose all balconies to create a private indoor conservatory space for year-round use, create a lighting system to improve the image of the blocks as well as creating a well-lit and safe environment around them, and to replace the entry systems to the blocks. The plans for the refurbishment were submitted for council approval in 2009 and were drawn up by Birmingham City Council's in-house Urban Design team.
