Gorgie

Gorgie is an area in the west of Edinburgh. It is one of the oldest residential areas in the city. Slum clearances took place as early as the 1920s to replace the decrepit housing conditions people in the area were living in at the time. These were replaced by new housing, mostly tenements although there is one high rise at Westfield Court.
