Ruchazie is a housing scheme in the east end of Glasgow. It is bordered by Garthamlock to the east, Cranhill to the south, Millerston to the north and Riddrie to the west. Initially, when the estate was built in the 1950s, it was a tenemental scheme with 3 and 4 storey flats being the most common form of housing, but, like the rest of Glasgow, these houses dated badly and many have since been demolished to make way for terraced and semi detached, back and front garden homes. Tower Homes and Ruchazie Housing Association have helped with the regeneration. Ruchazie was the setting of the 'Ice Cream Wars' in 1984 which resulted in the murder of the Doyle family.
