Sighthill is a high rise housing scheme in Springburn, north Glasgow. It consists of ten 20 storey slab blocks in estates:
Sighthill has one of the most diverse ethnic makeups in Scotland. This is mainly because it is one of a handful estates in the city that asylum seekers are housed.
Sighthill is due to be redeveloped in the next few years with the Fountainwell flats being demolished despite overwhelming pleas from residents for their homes to be kept. The Pinkston multi-stories are now also scheduled for demolition with the entire set of 10 blocks being razed to the ground by 2012. The five storey maisonettes in Fountainwell will also be demolished.
