Stonehouse

Stonehouse is a small town in South Lanarkshire. In 1971 it was designated Scotlands sixth New Town, but questions were raised as to why another new town was needed and this delayed construction and in 1977 the Secretary for Scotland announced that it was no longer a New Town and none of the New Town facilities were ever built.
